FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Ø How to connect the links together properly?
Take the two pieces, align the slit of each link at 90 degrees and push together. Using two fingers to hold each piece and applying pressure just enough to will interlink the two pieces. (note: in rare occasion one can also force the links together with one slit over a solid side but this is not recommended as there is a high chance the links may deform.)
Ø Can I break the links?
The ConneC-t links and accessories are made from plastic that is flexible yet rigid to support what it was designed for. But of course it has limits. One should not hang anything other than our products such as the curtain chain/strands. For reference, one should not apply a weight that exceed 2 oz ( 50 g).
Ø Can children under 6 years of age play with ConneC-t?
We strongly do not recommend that children under the age of 6 are allowed to play with our product alone as the risk of swallowing is high. Kids should aways be supervised and shall not be left alone playing with ConneC-t items unless over the recommended age.
Ø I have a carpet, and the bottom of the curtain is catching on the carpet. What is the recommended gap between the curtain stings and my carpet?
We recommend that at least gap equal to 2each links is left between the carpet and bottom of the sting/chain of links.
Ø I have a non-carpet floor, such as wood, vinyl, tiles or etc., what is the gap I should have between the curtain stings and my floor?
We still recommend that at least gap of 2each links it left between the floor surface and bottom of the sting/chain of links.
Ø Can I leave the links rest or drag on the floor (leaving no gap)?
We do NOT recommend this. Gravity is your friend and it will keep your strands nice and straight. Letting the curtain strands/chains drag or rest on the floor will cause them to entangle catch or on footwear leading to possible damage to your curtain. This may also cause a trip hazard.
Ø My Hook link came off the double sides tape.
Although rare, this can occur if the piece is not cleaned well, left to dry, touched by oily finger and etc. Touching the matching surfaces should be avoided as it will reduce the adhesive properties of the double-sided tape. In many cases we found it to be repairable. Here are the options
1) Clean the Hook link with rubbing alcohol (85% or higher alcohol content). Let dry for naturally. Do not try to blow on it as you can transfer saliva droplets back on the surface, contaminating the surface again. When the hook surface is dry, push and reattach the hook to the double-sided tape. (Never apply rubbing alcohol on the double-sided tape or touch the tape with fingers during this procedure)
2) (these steps should be done by an adult as you will need to use sharp object during these steps). Use a sharp cutter to cut out the part of the tape that is compromised. Replace this compromised section with a new piece of double-sided tape. Fit the pieces in to the gap first before removing any protection off the tape. We recommend removing the protection off one side first, attaching it into the gap and then removing the other protection exposing the side to allow your hook to be attached. Before attaching the hook, we strongly recommend to follow steps in item 1) above to reattach the hook appropriately.
3) Although doable step 2) can be challenging due to space limitations and size of the tape used to repair the area. We recommend to remove a few hooks, at least 5 each. This opens up the area foe better access. Then apply similar method as in step 2) above.
In any of the steps above we recommend to work safely and cautiously, avoiding contamination of surfaces while repairing your area. The cleaner the contact areas are the better and more durable adhesion you will achieve.
Ø I broke a link or hook, what do I do?
Unfortunately, we do not offer replacements. Brakeage usually happens with mis-use, force or other non-recommended actions which falls under non-warranty category. Note; In the kit(s) we do accommodate for a potential loss of one or two links however if one uses these per our recommendation, brakeage should not occur.
Ø I found a distorted link what do I do?
Where applicable we accommodate for possible defects and add additional links, i.e. the curtain kits. Unfortunately, replacements or warranty requests are generally not available on our products. For special situation you are welcome to reach out to us via the following email and we will evaluate the situation. dobsolforshp@gmail.com
Ø Why is the shipping so expensive on the Curtain kit?
Aside from cost increases, the kit is very heavy as you have close to 4500 pieces in the kit.
Ø Why do you only offer the colors that you have?
We found that pigment and different brands of raw material yield different final product characteristics. Therefore, we go through an evaluation process of each color and brand before considering it for the ConneC-t family. Popularity is also a big part of the selection of color, if you would like a certain color please vote and we will consider it. Never know yours may just make the list 😊.
Ø I have a topic; how do I contact you?

Ø What surface is ideal for attaching the double-sided tape when installing a curtain kit?
We do not guarantee the performance of the double-sided tape. We have selected a brand that is reputable and of good quality. The ideal surface it to be flat and free of oils and debris. A doorway with painted frame is a good example and a preferred surface for our product. We do not recommend to attach the tape to an unfinished, primed or un-painted surfaces.
